Newport International University
Computers and Internet
Three modern computer suites are available to all students - not
just those pursuing computer courses. Students are encouraged
to research via the Internet and produce assignments and
projects using computers. All computers are connected to the
internet and students have access to the Word Wide Web at all
times during college opening hours. Students may also have
their own free e-mail facility. There is also a computer laboratory
(workshop) for the sole use of those students following Computer
courses. In addition to the above there is a fully equipped CISCO
laboratory system, which is used for CCNA courses (details
available on request).
Library
The City College library facilities are for reference purposes only,
but there are other public and specialist libraries within the
vicinity of the college that students have access to. Students
may require an introductory letter or a student ID from the
college in order to be able to use these libraries.
Cafeteria
This is the place to have breakfast, lunch, or just snacks and
refreshments. Here, you can also meet and relax with your friends,
play pool or just watch television. The cafeteria occupies a large
area on the top floor of the building, and amongst other facilities,
contains information boards showing college and local activities,
including details of various trips/outings available on weekends,
either within the UK or Europe. Many students take advantage of
these short coach trips that are very reasonably priced.
